Match & Find User GuideBack Next
Match & Find has a number of configurable settings: it is important to make use of these so you can adapt the app to match your child's ability and inclination.
Some settings apply to all activities, others are specific to each individual activity. Tap the settings button at the top right in the main view to access the settings pop-up.
Settings that apply to all activities
Slide to the left to slow down the pace of all activities, or to the right to speed them up.
If you set Automatic to ON, then each activity will automatically start again when completed.
Playing Sound - Tap Object
If this is ON (the default) the name of each object is spoken when tapped (unless it is an incorrect answer).
Playing Sound - Try Again
If this is ON (the default) the words try again are spoken when an incorrect answer is tapped.
Playing Sound - Reward
If this is ON (the default) the sound of applause is played when an activity is successfully completed.
Changing the background from white to black, and the text colour from black to white or yellow may be helpful for some children with visual impairment.
You can override the default language used for sound and written words within the activities, by selecting any one of the languages included in the app.
The app has built in support for simple use of 1 or 2 Bluetooth switches: this is described in detail in Chapter 4.
There is a Reset button at the top of the settings pop-up. You can use this to reset all settings to their default values. In other words, this restores the app to its state when first installed, undoing any configuration changes you have made. As a precaution to prevent accidental reset, you will be prompted to enter the word reset to confirm you wish to do this.
Settings that apply to individual activities
You can access these by selecting the name of the activity in the settings pop-up from the main view. Alternatively, there is a settings button in each activity that quickly pops up its individual settings. See the summary of activities in the next chapter for details.
