Special Stories User GuideBack Next
When you launch Special Stories, it displays its main view, showing a list of stories. It comes with one story built in, the Quick Start Guide. As you add your own stories, these are displayed as well, as shown on the right. You can organize your stories into collections: in this case, only the stories in the currently-selected collection are displayed. Chapter 6 explains all about collections.
To read and listen to a story, you tap its title or picture. To update an existing story, you tap its arrow on the right. To create a new story, you tap the + button in the action bar at the top.
To rearrange the order of the stories, or to delete any you no longer need, you must first tap the locked padlock button so that it changes to unlocked. You cannot un-delete a story once you've deleted it.
Please note that you cannot update the Quick Start Guide and, unlike stories you create yourself, it has no spoken words. You can delete it, just like any other story, if you decide you no longer need it.
You access other features in the app using using the device's menu button: if it has no physical menu button, there is instead an overflow menu icon at the right hand end of the action bar at the top. These features include facilities for changing settings, managing collections, transferring stories and collections from one device to another, and accessing documentation on the Special iApps web site. Later chapters describe these in detail.
