Match & Find User Guide - Introduction

This guide currently describes editions of Match & Find that are no longer available or supported. It will be updated when the new edition, Match & Find Plus, is released.

Match & Find is an app for the Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, Android Devices and Chromebooks, designed to help develop young children’s memory, matching, searching and sequencing skills. Working memory is very important for the development of language and numeracy, and the carefully designed activities in this app can help children train and improve their auditory and visual working memory. Match & Find can be used alongside Special Words, Special Spelling, Special Numbers and Special Stories to improve your child's development. 

The 6 activities are clear and uncluttered, and can be used in any order. They are all configurable so you can set the level of difficulty to suit your child, and adjust as their ability and confidence grow.

Working with a set of 12 easily-recognised animal pictures, you can also move on to using the corresponding written words. Spoken words are also included, and you can control the use of these to exercise different aspects of memory and provide varying levels of auditory support.

The current version supports UK and US English, Catalan, Dutch, French, German, Norwegian, Polish and Spanish: we plan to add additional languages in future updates. The app has built-in help you can access by tapping the Help button at the top left (on iOS) or the Menu button at top right (on Android) in the main view.

On iOS: For those who are unable to use a touch screen, but who can operate switches, the app can be used with 1 or 2 Bluetooth-connected adaptive switches.
