World Down Syndrome Day Resources

March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD).

Down Syndrome International encourages groups around the world to celebrate, raise awareness and fundraise. For more information, visit the World Down Syndrome Day website.

To celebrate, we have created two resources themed around World Down Syndrome Day and their Lots of Socks campaign!

Lots of Socks!

Lots of Socks! includes drawings of 20 pairs of odd socks, each accompanied by the word “socks” written and spoken in a different language, by some of our many volunteer translators from around the world.

Where is the Sock?

Where is the Sock? includes 8 drawings each accompanied with a short sentences. You can personalise the resource to ask questions such as 'Where is the sock?', use prepositions as single words: in, on, and under or use short phrases or sentences.

Supporting children with Down syndrome

All our apps have been developed from the personal experience of raising our son William who has Down syndrome. They are designed to be visually clear and simple with no distracting backgrounds or noises.

Find out more about how our apps can improve the education of children with Down syndrome here, or take a look at what other resources we have on offer.
